Trip To Ingapirca Ruins

Ingapirca Ruins view

Today I decided to take a trip to Ingapirca Ruins which is the most popular Inca Ruins in Ecuador. This site is about 2 hours north of Cuenca and is very close to Canar, Ecuador. A total roundtrip ticket costs about $8 (including admission and necessary bus tickets) if you take the bus which is by far the cheapest way to explore Ingapirca during the weekends. There are extra costs for taking certain photos with props at the site which range around $0.50.

Once you arrive at the small town Ingapirca Ruins is located in, it takes a short 5-10min walk to the archaeological site. Tours with a Spanish/English guide start around 9:30am. After the tour begins, you notice the site is located around several farms and obvious mountain landscapes. There are a few vendor retail shops located around the site and in the small town plus restaurants that service Chicha which is a common drink for people in the Andes region.

For me, the trip to the Ingapirca Ruins was worth it since I got to see many picturesque views on the way to and from which made my day. Other than that, I definitely recommend it to be on your list when you make a visit to Cuenca.
