After arriving late morning at the place I would stay for the next few nights in the Old Quarter neighborhood of Hanoi, Vietnam, I decided it was time to hit the streets. What I found was the typical culture I had seen in other SE Asian countries’ cities which was a plethora of motorbikes zooming past and around me throughout my time walking the streets. These streets included its number of pushy sales tactics from individuals attempting to sell their goods.
I decided the simplest thing to do for my day was to book a same day performance ticket to a Water Puppet Show. The show itself was done in a theater with live music and water puppets to give one a snapshot of the scenery. The late afternoon performance time I picked was a near sell out and lasted about 1 hour.
Once the show ended I kept exploring Old Town as well as other areas of Hanoi that were farther out which included crossing Long Biên Bridge for a brief time for exploration. All in all my day went well as I decided to commence my adventures late that evening.
