Thou Shall Not Pass

Thou Shall Not Pass. Do not touch display picture in airport.

The journey to Vietnam was a bit of an odd one. The “oddity” if even that is a word came on the layover part of my flight leg which was in Seoul, South Korea. At the moment, South Korea have the most confirmed COVID-19 cases outside of China.

As I looked around at the patrons at the airport, about 60% of the population I saw were wearing surgical masks unless I just happened to miss the memo on the big masquerade party that was to take place. This number was even higher for airport employees. Even the children’s playground was blocked off due to the virus. On my flight to Hanoi, Vietnam the plane was maybe 20% full so I was lucky to have all of the extra row space and clean bathrooms.

My point about all of these things is to show you how small the world can be. The coronavirus effect is being felt worldwide whether this is media hype or not.

When I arrived in Vietnam there were a lot less people wearing masks and the ones that did may do so more for respiratory reasons. Well my holiday just started so I look forward to seeing what Vietnam has in store for me.
