Sandboarding in Sechura Peru

Sand dunes in Sechura, Peru

This being my 2nd time in Peru I decided I would go sandboarding in Sechura Peru for a 2nd time too which was 90 minutes away from Piura the tour took my tour group to a few historical museums along the way. After that we went to a river which they call a beach. This so called “beach” had flamingos and other birds. we also spotted one coyote looking animal in the bushes.

The tour had an add-on option to kayak for 20 Peruvian Soles ($5 USD) per kayak. This allowed my friend and I to see the different birds much more closer. Once this activity was completed, our tour guide sped us off to a restaurant before going to the sand dunes.

Once at the sand dunes in Sechura, we received our boards and proceeded up a few smaller sand dunes to test our boarding skills. This was proceeded by going down the biggest sand dune which was exhilarating. The activity lasted for about an hour as we did this several times until we got tired really. The overall tour lasted until late in the afternoon before we went back to our hotels in Piura.
