I have been able to travel to every so called “continent” except Africa and Australia (and Antarctica if you count this one too).
But many people have come up to ask me why I have not been to Africa yet as I have been to over a dozen countries at this point. Well I have list out my reasoning below:
1. Flight Costs
- Since there are not many budget airlines within most countries in Africa, flights are not cheap coming from the United States let alone national/domestic travel within Africa
2. Tours
- Tours are not that expensive unless you plan to visit and book one of the more popular safari national parks which can break the vacation budget for the budget minded traveler as myself especially if you enjoy wildlife and adventure for the countries that have that to offer.
3. Hidden costs
- Depending on which African country or countries you decide to visit you must be sure to check VISA requirements as there are several that require a VISA which you must obtain in advance which adds to more preparation for your trip.
- In addition, one must make sure to have the proper vaccinations needed depending on the country and region you will visit such as a Yellow Fever vaccination, etc.
With all of that being said, I still plan to visit a country or countries in Africa, just not sure where yet!!!
