Eurostep to Munich

Munich with caption of BMW Museum in background from the highway.

I decided to travel again and to take a Eurostep to Munich. I always wanted to go to Germany with Bayern Munich being one of the attractions. Upon arriving in Germany, I noticed the train system to be very efficient and recognized it to be essentially free but on an “honor system”.

Not knowing the metro system situation previously, I had already bought the CityPass which included metro transportation. This card allowed me to visit virtually all of the main attractions excluding the BMW Museum. This site gives history of BMW and is where the headquarters is located. The museum is located at the Olympic Park site which is included in the CityPass card. As well as being on the route of the Hop On and Hop Off Bus.

The city of Munich I found to be very efficient but did seem to lack food access in certain areas including the area where my hostel was located which was less than 2 km from their downtown. To give background my hostel was beside an Ibis hotel and a Novotel hotel. I came on a weekend where the nearest open convenience store was at least a 20 minute walk away and very few fast food restaurants available. Most of the restaurants that were available closed at 8pm leaving on food delivery and a pizza making machine as the only good options. This was the biggest surprise to me in such a profound city. I would recommend one to visit this city but to check with what restaurants are immediately nearby before booking accommodations.
