Today I took my last tour in Siem Reap to what are the Floating Villages. In the dirt road to the area my tour van’s tire blew out due to the dry bumpy and very shaky road. Luckily my tour guide named “Johnny” assured us that we could ride in two following buses to the boating area.
Once we arrived to the dock, we immediately departed to nearby villages and onto a floating restaurant. There was the option for $5 USD per person to take a paddle boat ride to a jungle area. Well I chose this option and was disappointed since it was a mere 20 minute boat ride around a few small trees where the village boaters were selling convenience store goods essentially. I was hoping to see some sea creatures myself but left unfortunate.
The remaining tour ended with a sunset view out on the lake on the floating restaurant which was a relaxing way to end the tour.
I do recommend this tour despite my negative review of the side option since you are able to see villages and locals during the speed boat ride.
