My trip to Las Tres Cruces in Medellin was a wild one. It began with an Uber ride that led use to the backside of the site. The way I know this is because we were on many one-way streets that went through very run-down areas with no tourists in sight. A typical Sunday is when the paisas of Medellin exercise in the mornings.
As my Uber driver dropped me off, I realized I would not be hiking this since hill since I was already at the top of the hill. This was a relief and a letdown at the same time but I was going to hike down which would be tricky. The hike down had medium difficulty where the were a few times I almost slipped down. Once I completed my descent, I walked down the street to realize I was in the Belen neighborhood of Medellin as this was the correct starting point for Tres Las Cruces.
At the end of the day, I did enjoy the nice scenic views of the valley from the top of the hill. Here is a great video from one of my favorite Youtubers “FitTravel” on the hike up Tre Las Cruces. Looking back on it all I had an adventurous ride with my Uber driver that gave me a good laugh. I recommend making this hike if you visit Medellin more than once.
