Walk and Talk Tour with David

Walk and Talk Tour with David. David and I.

Well I was back in Medellin. A city I had been to over 5 years ago. This time I wanted to learn more about the city as well as take tours and see areas around the city that I had not seen during my previous journey. With that being said, I decided to reach out to Medellin Youtuber, Life with David. David is originally from the United States and spent about half of his life in Texas.

From the start of the tour, David met me at my Airbnb in Laureles, then the walk and talk tour with David began. He took me all around Laureles as we discussed multiple topics that related to travel and cultural differences between the United States and Colombia. One place in particular that we went to on our journey was Comuna 13. I am not going to get into many details about what Comuna 13 is but feel free to reach out to me if you want to know more so that I can better explain its impact on the city of Medellin. During our time there, we had a unique “Cremas” popsicle that was salted and filled with fruit which was perfect on this hot day up in the hills of the mountains. After finishing that part of the tour we took the metro down to the Medellin neighborhood of Sabaneta to have a big lunch. The lunch for each of us included a big plate of food which is not traditional in most Colombian restaurants but this one hit the spot and did not leave us feeling bloated. David and I contribute this to the foods being more natural with less preservatives as if this was a typical meal in the U.S., we probably would have had to discontinue our walking tour. Our tour ended after visiting a park in Laureles close to where I was staying.

I highly recommend a tour with David as he knows many places in Medellin that are not touristy but are authentic places to see and things to do in Medellin that many Youtubers who cover Colombia currently do not discuss. He is excellent if you need tips or tricks on ways to save money and can advise on travel to other areas surrounding Medellin. Please subscribe to his Youtube channel if you want to know more about Colombia and why he chose to move there 4 years ago.
