To start this budget travel blog post for today, I decided it was time for a hike up to the mountains. In particular, I decided to hike to see Cristo Rey statue. This was not a must for me as I had seen an identical statue when I went to Brazil several years earlier but since I wanted to get in a little exercise on this day I decided to make the trip to see it. I had gone with a couple of Youtube buddies and a subscriber of theirs a couple of days back (click Here to see my previous blog on them) but unfortunately I was unable to see the statue up close since there were preparations for an electronica party that was going to take place on that Saturday afternoon.

The hike itself took approximately 90 minutes from the San Antonio neighborhood where I was staying. Once there, you find the best views in all of Cali are at your disposal. The sights as well as the hike were breathtaking. If you are wondering, it did not take as long to go back down, but if you want to save yourself time, feel free to take a taxi up and back if you are not fully into solo budget travel.
