My Dolphin Encounter Experience

The Animal Lover

I have always been an animal lover, but today I wanted to get up close so let me tell you about my dolphin encounter experience tour. My tour was booked directly through Dolphin Discovery There are 3 levels of “Encounters” at different price points from which you can choose and For this budget travel blog, I would like to emphasize that no photos are allowed as they have their own photographers at which the prices are not the best for solo budget travel.

The Encounter

The encounter itself included 45-60mins of in-water interactions with 2 dolphins (a male and a female). The dolphin trainer kept my tour group and the dolphins fully engaged the entire time as we did multiple actions with them which included massaging their bellies, dances, retrieval exercises and more.

The Conclusion

The tour concluded with a lunch buffet and optional photo purchase. The photo option prices are very steep (almost the price of admission depending on the package you select) to say the least as customers were not allowed to take their own photos as I mentioned but they did offer a few slightly more affordable options should you not wish to purchase all of the photos but only a couple of them. Aside from that con of it, there were way more pros that outweighed this part of the “Encounter” in the end.
