1. Many countries/cities are reliant on business from other countries.
“Example 1: In the Bahamas, 19.23% of their GDP is based off tourism. Much of this is based off cruise ship ports and excursions that pour over into business and jobs that support their restaurants and casinos for this island nation that supports those jobs.”
“Example 2: Las Vegas received 42.5 million visitors last year due to tourism. This city is built to entertain and without tourism well they really would only be just a desert.”
2. Many essential jobs cannot be done from home.
“Example: Doctors, Nurses, truck drivers, casual to fine dining restaurants cannot be done effectively if at all, etc”
3. Many non-essential businesses cannot operate from home
“Example 1: Many professional sports leagues around the world cannot survive solely on TV revenue agreements.”
“Example 2: Same scenario for the entertainment industry which includes music artists, movie theaters, playwrights, the tradeshow industry, etc.”
4. The World is a Global Economic Market
“Self explanatory since countries have trade agreements with multiple countries around the world.”
***My expectation when domestic and international travel will be restored in most countries to a reasonable degree is June 1st, 2020.
