Today’s adventure was to one of the 7 Wonders of Nature which is Ha Long Bay. There is a story behind this area which includes a dragon marrying a human lady but I won’t go all into that.
The tour I signed up for was on a “Junk Boat” which is basically an older yacht versus the newer Luxury Boats that are available at a much higher price. The tour to Ha Long Bay from Hanoi took a little over 3 hours. Once there we got into our boat and the cruise started while a seafood lunch was served that was delicious.
This tour consisted of cruising the bay and entering a cave called Dong Thiên Cung on one of the islands. During the tour, there is an option to kayak or to be rowed in a row boat along portion of Ha Long Bay. The journey included a tourguide that spoke both English and Vietnamese. My tourguide’s name translates to English meant “circus” since that was where his parents had their 1st date. I enjoyed this cross country trek, the sights, my tourguide, and would recommend again.
